Advent Stories
Advent Stories was an art project co-created with Fegg Hayes Futures. The project brought together artists and community members living in Stoke North to create a living community advent calendar by decorating their windows in the countdown to Christmas.
Artists Sue Guthrie and Harry Jukes were commissioned to work alongside the community on the project. They created window installations inspired by advent in the windows of The Hub @ST6. (See below for more details on the artists and what they did)
Sue Guthrie
Sue Guthrie is a visual artist, sculptor and educator. She has created bright, bold and colourful works in paint, print, mural and digital form. For Advent Stories she created the finale window shared on Christmas Eve. Sue used paper collage to create a huge landscape design that explores hopes for a greener future across all the windows on the side of the Hub@ST6 facing Fegg Hayes Road.
Sue also created step-by-step videos for participants to follow and create their own window displays. Check these out below!
